GRAPE GOODNESS GREEN SMOOTHIE
Grapes are great because they contain a very potent antioxidant called resveratrol. Found in the skin of grapes, resveratrol has recently gotten a lot of attention for its ability to reduce cardiovascular events and reduce the risk for cancer. So drink and enjoy this refreshing, energizing smoothie while reversing the effects of cellular damage at the same time.
– 1 coconut (water only)
– 1/2 cup of fresh squeezed OJ (RAW/Unpasturized)
– 1 navel or valencia orange (depending on the season)
– 2 cups of green or red grapes
– 1 green apple (cored)
– ¼ avocado
– 1 date (pitted optional*)
– 1 bunch of rainbow chard (leaves only)
– 1 bunch of romaine lettuce (leaves only)
– 2-3 cups of ice
* Blend down fruit and liquid. Then add in greens and blend. Then add ice blend. Add any amount of green, liquid, or fruit to reach desired amount of smoothie.
** TIP: Try freezing your grapes for more of a refreshing consistency. Not to mention, since they are one of the “dirty dozen” fruits, you can freeze them during the late summer/early fall (their season) for use year round.
